Bring to life this large scale celebration event for Northern Women to help equip and power northern women to achieve their goals
The first WomanKind North event takes place in Preston, Lancashire on March 7th for a full day of celebrating female power, grit and northern pride, over International Women's Day weekend 2020.

We are Helen and Morgana two indie business owning women from Preston and the founders of WomanKind North. WomanKind North launches off the back of numerous successful events and solo projects. We have teamed up to put on this mini festival for Northern Women because we know there's loads of amazing Women doing amazing things up North. This event is for you if you identify as a Northern Woman, or want to support Northern Women. We occasionally have events up here populated solely with southern headliners, who are great but we know there's grit, power and Northern Pride which needs championing. We know there is a ton of creativity and wonderful stuff up here so lets celebrate and start shouting about it!
We will be welcoming up to 200 women to the city of Preston to showcase the diverse wealth of creativity and energy housed in the north. WKN2020 is a full day event for self identifying Northern women, set over the International Women's Day weekend there will be creative workshops, panels and expert 'space making women' and inspirational speakers. Expect style with substance as we showcase a marketplace of masterful Northern woman led brands, all the food, drinks a social spaces and all the quality touches.
Through our Take Your Space - Make More Space theme, women at the event will be immersed in creative workshops, hear from top tier speakers, and panels of experts covering topics such as
-She Means Business (career goals, entrepreneurial stories and experience)
-We've Got This (overcoming imposter syndrome, dreaming big, being part of community)
-Your Body Your Rules (body image, representation in the media, female sexuality)
- Plus, a massive nod to the worldwide IWD2020 theme of 'Each for Equal'

As well as the Main Stage of speakers, and panels hosted by our Northern lass presenter there will be creative workshops and we'll have a quality Indie Marketplace of retail pop ups, a Chill Out Lounge, various entertainment acts such as a DJ and feminist comedy performance, and of course this will all be styled and thought through to ensure our Northern Women have a day to remember.
This is where you come in! Bringing this event to life takes a whole lot of work and backing. We can't put on this event without your support, whether that's buying your ticket, donating for a reward like a social media shout out or booking a exhibitor space for your larger business.
We have planned out our event to include opportunities to partner with organisations wishing to advertise and connect with a new audience. We would love to partner with you if you share our vision for a truly inspiring and uplifiting event which gives Northern Women a platform on which to take their space, and make more space for others. We can help you bring to life a message from your brand, organisation or business to our Northern Women. We have planned out example packages (rewards) which will support the event from powering our entertainment, to refreshments, to speakers, workshops, panels of inspirational experts and the list goes on. Please do get in touch, if one of the example packages could be tweaked to totally fit with the message you're wanting to send. Rest assured, WomanKind North can make it happen.
PS If you're wanting to a reserve stall in the Indie Marketplace, head to our website for info on that. Indie Market stall holders will need a ticket so do get yourself one now so you don't miss out (all the info around this is on our website).
Advertising space in The POPAs part of both funding the event, and the legacy the event will leave, with your help we would love to create a Programme of Power (POP), a handbook to be distributed at the event to each attendee. This POP will feature some of the best Indie led businesses from across the land (this is the part you folk south of the border, and male people can get involved in).
We are looking for people like makers, artists, photographers, stylists, shop keepers, the list goes on! Along with some of the amazing people who run family focused businesses, activities, folk who have a start up or have created their own THING they just want to shout about. Once we have some amazing businesses/creatives/individuals who wish to be featured, we will be grouping the POP into sections to make it easy for our Northern Women attendees to make Indie focused purchasing decisions in the future.
Not only will it be showcasing businesses it will of course be styled super well, and be interspersed with interviews, inspiration pieces, opinion pieces, artwork and words from charity partners.
We know that long after the event this handbook will sit in the magazine rack, or on desks and be our women's 'go to' for shopping/services related queries and future purchases.

So whether you want to buy your ticket or you're a big business that wants to exhibit, or you are a freelancer who wants to advertise in the POP, or you're a friend/follower who wants to fuel us with a coffee on our way, we appreciate all contributions. It's with your help that we can make this mini festival of celebration the best it can be!
