New stretch target
Our first priority is to resurface our courts and create a great playing facility for everyone to enjoy.
Extra money would then enable us to move on to phase 2 and improve our other facilities.
We need to resurface our worn out tennis courts and make them great and safe again. We also aim to replace our 50+ year old "clubhouse"

West Norfolk Lawn Tennis Club (WNLTC) is based in North Runcton, a small village just outside King's Lynn in Norfolk. We are a friendly, welcoming group of players with a reputation for hosting fun tournaments and having great club events on our 3 grass courts and 2 hard courts.
Our two hard courts are in desperate need of resurfacing as they are worn out and at risk of becoming dangerous and unplayable. The surface is breaking up causing very unpredictable bounces and the risk of players falling. These pictures give an indication of the very poor state of the surface:
New artificial grass courts will provide a great surface for new and existing players, young and old, to enjoy playing on for many years. Our players have tested the new surface at various other locations and all love it.
We have already raised the majority of the money needed through grant funding (thanks to BCKLWN and North Runcton Parish Council) and our own fundraising events such as tournaments and guided walks
and plant sales run by one of our younger members (photos of one last year and preparing for this year's event - see Rewards):
This crowdfunding activity is our final drive to generate the last £10,000 needed to undertake our project which we want to do this spring.
If we exceed our target we also hope to replace our "clubhouse" which has served us well for over 50 years but is now rather "tired".
Matt, one of the players at WNLTC, is providing the focal point for this fundraising campaign. He accepted the challenge of riding his bike from WNLTC in North Runcton to the courts in Wimbledon, the very home of Lawn Tennis.
He cycled approx. 120 miles and he did it all in one day, on April 14th 2024.
Here is some evidence of his journey:
Ready for the off at 6:30am:
And setting off with his travelling companion, Drew, and some trepidation:
Still smiling as approaching halfway and stopping for a rest in Cambridge:
And finally being able to celebrate at Wimbledon, the famous home of tennis:
Please help Matt, and West Norfolk Lawn Tennis Club, to reach our target and make this project a reality.
We are expecting Sport England to provide some match funding so that every £10 you give will be worth even more to us.
So please help us if you can:
1. Make a pledge. If you’re going to support us please do it straight away. Our campaign will only run for 4 weeks, but we want to reach our target as quickly as possible.
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us!
3. Claim a reward. Take a look at the exciting rewards that we have on offer - pledge at least the minimum stated for any reward you fancy and claim it for yourself.
