Aim

We are fundraising celebrate our club's Centenary and to raise money to develip our indoor training equipment!

We are team Centenary Stroke Sisters - Sophia, Jen, Sue, Anna, Mags, Clare

Together on Saturday 9th May we are taking part in the WLARC's (Weybridge Ladies Amateur Rowing Club) Ergothon!

For 12 hours we will work together to row a minimum of 125km on the ergo, taking it in shifts throughout the day and trying to beat the other teams by rowing the most!

Please support us by donating and helping us to fundraise to develop our indoor training equipment.

About Our Club

We believe women deserve a supportive, inclusive community dedicated to women's rowing.

At WLARC, we accommodate a wide range of rowing ambitions—from those looking to develop (after completing learn-to-row courses), to recreational rowers, to seasoned racers, and women looking to improve their fitness through land-based training.

Why are we crowdfunding?

2026 is our club's centenary year, and to celebrate our rich history and to continue it's positive impact on women and girls in the local community, we are crowdfunding to develop our indoor land training facilities!

Due to shorter daylight hours during half the year and increasingly wet winters, there are periods of the year where we aren't able to row on the river safely. As a result we need to develop our land training equipment to enable us to continue to provide women and girls the opportunity to develop their rowing skills and fitness, whilst benefitting from the mental well being and social benefits of being part of a community.

How The Funds Raised Will Be Used

To develop our indoor facilities we need to raise £8843,

Sport England have recently offered to fund half of this through match funding!

This is why we are taking on the Ergothon challenge to support our club in raising at least £4422 to ensure we can unlock this match funding and complete our project.

The money you give will go towards purchasing new indoor gym equipment which will enable us to provide varied group training sessions for all abilities. This will include rowing machines, yoga mats, a variety of weights and new protective flooring.

If we raise over our collective target £4422 as a club, any money remaining will still go to supporting rowing provision at the club, and will be used to buy other rowing equipment such as oars (for example) to support with water based training!
