Maintenance of a public playground and recreation area

WITHERLEY MEMORIAL PLAYING FIELD

Witherley Memorial Playing Field Trust is managed and maintained by  Trustees who give their time freely to the Charity.

Our current project for which we need to raise £3000 is to replace the play area surfaces.

The Field is funded by grants and donations. The Field requires funding to maintain the play equipment to the safety standards required. The Field is the only recreational area in the Village, used by all ages and is a central focal point for social activities- important in rural communities where social isolation is  a well recognised issue.

There is a  limited selection of childrens play equipment that is now over 20 years old and reaching the end of its life, some adult gym equipment, and a football pitch.

The Charity sourced funding to install a petanque terrain which is utilised by all ages within the community: a regular group meet to play on a Thursday.

in 2024 we  established  a nature area on the Field with a small startup grant  from the local authority.  This will project will encourage Village children to think about how local wildlife, birds and insects need support  to survive.

The Field requires funding to support its ongoing place at the heart of the Village- please consider donating to this important Village facility.
