Aim

We urgently need to resurface our two tennis courts to provide a safer, higher-quality playing surface for members and the local community🎾

Who are we?

Wistaston Jubilee Tennis Club is a welcoming, community-focused tennis club at the heart of Wistaston. We’re more than just a place to play tennis — we’re a space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can come together to stay active, make friends, and enjoy sport in a supportive environment.

From young children picking up a racket for the first time, to adults returning to the game or playing socially each week, we aim to make tennis accessible, affordable, and fun for everyone.

Our club is built on the belief that sport should bring people together, improve physical and mental wellbeing, and strengthen the local community. With your support, we want to continue growing, improving our facilities, and offering even more opportunities for people of all ages to get active and involved.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

Why are we crowdfunding?

Wistaston Jubilee Tennis Club has been a beloved part of our community for many years, providing a welcoming space for tennis enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, our club is dedicated to fostering a love for the game in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.

And we are SO excited to tell you that we have secured support and match funding from Sport England - up to £15,000. So for every donation up to this amount, Sport England's Movement Fund will match it.

But now, our courts are in urgent need of resurfacing. The current surface is cracked and uneven. The hard surface is tough on joints and makes playing a lot harder on the body.

To solve these problems, we’re aiming to replace our old courts with new Tiger Turf courts—a softer, more forgiving surface that’s easier on the bones and joints, especially for our senior players and young athletes still developing their skills. Not only will this improve safety, but it will also make playing tennis a more enjoyable experience for everyone, reducing the strain on muscles and joints. Tiger Turf provides a safer, non-slip surface that drains well and stands up to year-round use, giving our community more time on court. 

But we need your help! As a community-run club, we rely on the support of local friends, families, and businesses to keep our courts in top condition and continue offering affordable membership and coaching opportunities. Your generous contribution will go directly towards the resurfacing of our 2 courts.

How we’ll spend the money raised

How We Will Spend the Money:

Court Resurfacing with Tiger Turf
The largest portion of funds will go toward installing the Tiger Turf surface. This premium surface will provide a safer, cushioned experience for players, reducing the impact on joints and making the game more comfortable for players of all ages.

Court Preparation and Installation
Before the new turf can be laid, we need to prepare the existing courts. This includes levelling the ground, repairing drainage systems, and ensuring that the base is solid and stable. This step is crucial to make sure the new surface lasts for many years.

Safety Features and Markings
We will also use a portion of the funds to add clear, high-quality markings for both singles and doubles play, ensuring that the courts are not only safe but also up to standard for all levels of competition.

Ongoing Maintenance Fund
A small portion of the money will be reserved for future maintenance of the new courts, so we can keep them in top condition for years to come
