We’re raising £1500 to buy Christmas presents for children and young people who need them the most. We’re going to buy the gifts they need with the money you invest.
The Children’s Society work directly with disadvantaged children, many of whom have nowhere else to turn, to ensure they are loved, valued and listened to.
Our network includes children’s centres, drop-in services, support for young runaways and work with young carers. The Wish List will buy Christmas presents for children and young people at our programmes and children’s centres across the country.
Why do we care about this project?
In hard times, children are among the hardest hit. Many of the children and young people who we directly support come from families who have very little income and cannot buy Christmas presents. Last year the Wish List selection boxes we bought were the only present that some of the children received.
The Wish List gifts are not just something to unwrap at Christmas, these presents give the most disadvantaged children the chance to take part in social activities and play. A trip to the zoo or an outing to the theatre is an opportunity to learn and bond and have some fun. Cinema tickets and Love To Shop vouchers give a young person the opportunity to watch the latest blockbuster, so they can talk about it with their friends and not feel left out; being able to buy something fashionable to wear can help them to feel that they fit in.

This Christmas, children and young people around the country will receive a Christmas gift from their wish list, bought with the money raised on Crowdfunder.
