We're still collecting donations
On the 9th June 2020 we'd raised £16,051 with 264 supporters in 9 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Because we know that none of us will be having a summer holiday this year we thought a little Sunshine on Leith might be the perfect tonic!

On the 9th June 2020 we'd raised £16,051 with 264 supporters in 9 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Because we're crowdfunding as a 'pay it forward' initiative, we have set ourselves quite a generous stretch target to allow as many people to grab themselves a really great deal and pop down to The Shore for a bit of escapism...even if it's only for a few hours!
Tapa is a small, independent, award winning Spanish restaurant based in the vibrant Shore area of Edinburgh. We opened in 2009 with the aim of being evocative of that irresistible moment of joy when you're blasted with heat as you step off the plane, the smell of freshly applied sunscreen and the first glass of wine that officially signals you're on holiday...yep, we absolutely love Spain and we're passionate about recreating our experiences using unique, artisanal produce from small, family run producers that- not only- highlight the incredible diversity of ingredients this amazing country has to offer, but, also match with our sustainable sourcing philosophies.
But we're a well established, award winning restaurant- why are we crowdfunding?! Well, as with all small businesses- but specifically- as a small business operating in the hospitality industry, we have felt the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic more keenly than most and we hope, that through a crowdfunded, pay it forward scheme, we can- not only- whistle you away to the Iberian peninsula for a few hours (seeing as none of us are going to have the chance to go this year!), but, also generate capital to ease the pressure of trying to settle pre-existing supplier debts (that without the ability to trade we haven't been able to satisfy) whilst allowing us to refurbish and prepare the restaurant for the challenge of what the new normal may be!
