Aim
We want to provide 1,000 Winter Warmer Packs to families across Perthshire this Christmas
Hello!
We’re Social Flock. We’re a small grassroots movement who work together to reduce the impact of poverty on our community, and reduce our reliance on fast fashion. We achieve this by providing free packs of pre-loved and new clothing for people across Perthshire. We believe in our #PowerfulPerthshire! 
This Winter we are going to provide 1,000 Winter Warmer Packs and we need your support to make that happen.
Why should you help?
We believe every child should be able to feel warm and dry throughout winter and have a fantastic festive season.
We believe all children should be able to play outside no matter the weather, be able to arrive at school dry, and be cosy at home?
We believe adults shouldn't have to go without warm and waterproof clothing so they can afford to keep their home warm and keep food in their fridge.

Each Winter Warmer Pack costs us around £50 to make up from operational costs, volunteer expenses, delivery cost and pack contents BUT if bought new our packs would cost each person between £100 - £200 to get (this changes between the size of feet they have and how big a jacket they need!) so we're saving families enough money to ensure they have a good Christmas meal, at least.
If you donate £50 you will be sponsoring one ENTIRE pack. Hopefully that gives you the same warm feeling our packs will give to others.

What is a Winter Warmer Pack?
The goal is to provide 10 preloved indoor and outdoor items to keep every person warm, dry, cosy and confident over the winter season.
During the application process families can personalise their packs so we include colours or with characters they will feel special wearing. We also endeavour to ensure we meet any sensory requirements for our applicants. This helps make sure we are giving people what they really want - a pack made up just for them!

With 1 in 4 children already living in poverty in Perthshire and cuts to Universal Credits, increase in fuel and food costs, and the end to the furlough scheme more children will be pushed below the breadline. We want to be part of the support network to empower families to have the standard of life they deserve.'

We're four years in the future and we're really shocked to say things are basically still the same...if not worse. In 2021 we delivered 124 Winter Warmer packs, in 2024 we delivered 556, in 2025 we are expecting 1,000 applications. 800 for children and 200 for adults. We do expect to have to run a waiting list and will aim to meet all the demand we have for packs.

Schools and Education groups across Perthshire, and anyone who is working directly with someone in the community.
What makes this project extra special is that families can also self refer to ensure we can reach as many people as possible. No one gets left behind because of earning 'too much' (we don't know why needs stop when you earn below a liveable wage!) but who still struggle to make ends meet, or people caught out by an unexpected bill, change in circumstances or people who just want to protect our environment by being #ClothingClimateActivists.

How else can you show support?
We always need more volunteers. We currently need around 30 hours of volunteering a week to make Social Flock happen, it's a lot of time people give us for free and we are so so grateful for every single second of it. More volunteers means we can make up more packs and keep on top of donations.
We need volunteers to help in our hub, mend and wash donations and also delivery drive our packs out across Perthshire.
