Winter hunger BCK

Aim

I want to help Bradford Community Kitchen to provide food parcels to vulnerable families through this winter.

Bradford Community Kitchen (BCK) is a registered charity which began in 2017 to feed the homeless and vulnerable in Bradford. The Covid-19 pandemic meant that it was not possible to operate that service. 

BCK saw that there was a need to feed families with children and set up a Foodbank which delivers boxes of food sufficient to feed a family for a week.

For the past year BCK has accessed Council and Government funding to do this. BCK has also had a number of generous donations from businesses and individuals in Bradford. BCK is one of the two charities being supported by the Bradford Lord Mayor's Appeal. 

Government funding is no longer available and the money from the Lord Mayor's Appeal will not come until next May. 

There are children living in poverty in Bradford, one of the most deprived areas in the UK. With your donations BCK can help make the winter bearable for children and families in Bradford. 

We get referrals from Social Services, Refuges, the Job Centre, local community organisations and allow people to self-refer. 

The money you donate will help us buy nutritious food to help these families through the winter. Any donation, however small, will help.
