Your support makes a difference
To make and share herbal remedies through mutual aid, supporting accessible community healthcare and wellbeing for communities in Glasgow.
Seeking donations to support our annual Winter Herbal Mutual Aid project- an ambitious project where we aim to make thousands of herbal remedies to support the health and wellbeing of community members in Glasgow.
Who we are-
Herbal Solidarity Collective is a project supported by Movement in Thyme CIC, bringing volunteers together to make herbal remedies to support our communities in Glasgow. We meet twice a month at Glasgow Autonomous Space to make herbal remedies to stock our pay-what-you-can Herbal Mutual Aid shelves as well as donating remedies to local and international projects.

Why herbs?
We believe herbal medicine is the people's medicine and has a key role to play in supporting the health and wellbeing of vulnerable and marginalised communities in Glasgow. Over 80% of the world’s population rely on herbal medicine as part of their healthcare, herbs are a familiar and accessible form of healthcare that empower people to connect with their bodies and with the environments they live in. Connecting to diverse communities in Glasgow through herbal solidarity also connects us to the land we live on and the environment we are part of.
Who will this project support?
Anyone can access remedies through our Herbal Mutual Aid shelves and Mutual Aid events, all of which are pay-what-you-can. Our main focus is supporting individuals and communities who would not otherwise be able to access herbal medicines, including refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, queer and trans people, disabled people and people living in poverty.

How will remedies be distributed?
We will hold a Winter Herbal Mutual Aid Event in Glasgow Autonomous Space and are also looking at collaborating with partner organisations on separate events for their communities. Remedies will be available for community members to pick up for free or pay-what-you-can. In previous years we have combined this with a community meal, massage and bodywork, kids crafts and even a Taiko drumming session, so we'll be looking at activities to include in the event a wee bit closer to the time!

What will my donation go towards?
Money from this fundraiser will primarily go towards materials for our Winter Herbal Mutual Aid project- this includes the herbs and ingredients themselves, packaging and labels. If we raise enough we will set up a transport fund to support community members accessing Herbal Mutual Aid events. Any further money raised will go towards supporting our community herbalism and mutual aid work in the new year.
Our remedies are tried and tested, developed by experienced community herbalists, using herbs that are considered safe for the vast majority of people. They are all labelled with safety information and guidance on how to use them, shared with community members to support and empower their own personal self care during winter.
