Aim

As winter sets in, many who fled war, violence & discrimination seeking safety now face freezing nights on UK streets. Help keep them safe.

"Refugees at Home’s efforts have made a lasting impact, and I will forever be grateful for the stability and comfort they helped me attain.  As I continue to rebuild my life, I look forward to the day when I can pay it forward by supporting vulnerable people in their time of need.” -  a former guest.

For many of us, a warm home during the cold months is something we take for granted. While we gather for cosy nights with friends and loved ones, many of those who came to the UK to flee war, violence, and discrimination risk sleeping rough this winter.

The cold weather, coupled with the surge in anti-refugee sentiment, means the situation is particularly bleak for those seeking sanctuary.

Contrary to what some might say, this is not an island of strangers.  Time and time again we’ve seen communities across the UK come together to welcome those looking for a better life.

By donating, you too can be a part of a movement making a very real, immediate difference for refugees and people seeking asylum.

How can your support help?

❄️ £50 would cover the cost of a week’s placement, providing a guest with a safe place to stay.

❄️£60 will pay for a high-priority home visit, allowing us to fast-track placements for refugees currently sleeping on the street.

❄️£80 could pay for move on support, helping a guest find more permanent accommodation

❄️£120 could cover the cost of managing a placement throughout winter (based on 100 days length of stay)

Help keep someone safe this winter

About Refugees at Home

We don’t think people who come to the UK for sanctuary should end up on the streets. Refugees at Home connects people with a spare room to refugees and people seeking asylum in need of somewhere to stay.

Working with our volunteer hosts, referrers, and supporters, we want to enable a society where everyone looking to rebuild their lives can do so in safety and without the risk of homelessness.

Since 2016, we have placed over 7,200 guests who might otherwise have ended up sleeping on the streets, totalling more than 742,000 nights spent in a safe, warm and welcoming home.
