Winslow Bowls Club wants everyone, regardless of mobility, to have the chance to enjoy playing bowls, become more active & make good friends

Who are we?Hello we are Winslow Bowls Club in Bucks, a friendly club situated in a beautiful park setting.
Thank you for looking at our page!
As a club we want there to be no barriers to becoming more active and enjoying sport, making good friends along the way. The youngest on our green last year were children at junior school and the oldest in their 90s.
INCREASING ACTIVITY IN SPORT
We are all different individuals and some of us have some mobility issues which is why over the years the club has purchased some resources to assist , with the help of some grants, such as bowls lifters and arms as well as a manual bowls wheelchair.
Last year with great community support, the club installed a ramp onto the green to assist access. All these help now and will continue to be important in the future. Our new changing rooms with toilet have disabled access.
The club wants to provide even more opportunity for active participation in sport and mixing with others by crowdfunding for a motorised wheelchair. This would open the door for individuals with limited mobility to be actively engaged in the sport with the other members of the club.
To introduce youngsters to bowls, both boys and girls, the club is looking for assistance in buying lighter and smaller bowls specifically designed for juniors.
We have applied to the Sport England Movement Fund for 50% of our target.
We do want the enjoyment of our sport to be open to all. Qualified coaches at the club already provide free coaching sessions.

Bowls Royce Motorised Wheelchair £3,286
Various sizes of junior bowls , smaller & lighter, plus targets £714
TOTAL __£4,000____
Should the initial target be exceeded this would allow more junior bowls to be purchased as well as some smaller lighter adult bowls and potentially more bowls lifters, thereby increasing further accessibility to our sport.
The club has full playing members and social members from Buckingham, Winslow and surrounding villages. The clubhouse is currently used by various community groups who enjoy the local facility.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
