The Green Party achieved 25% of the vote in May's County elections in Hednesford and Rawnsley. Our lead candidate, Paul Woodhead, secured over 1800 votes. The division elected two Conservatives, one of which has since sadly passed away. Paul is currently a District Councillor and is well regarded as being exceptionally hard working and popular. With help, we can win our first County Council seat.
The election will coincide with two District Council seats, both of which are winnable. One is the second seat in a ward where Paul is currently a Councillor. The existing Conservative Councillor failed to attend the required number of meetings.
The local party are well organised, know how to win and have excellent support from neighbouring parties and the regional party. But we know we'll need even more help, both in terms of volunteers and money.
