The Cause
The Together Through Sport campaign has seen major sports foundations across the North East collaborate alongside North East Housing Partnership to make sure every child gets the chance to play, grow and thrive.
Right now, too many young people miss out on the benefits of sport simply because families can’t afford sessions, kit or access. Together Through Sport is tackling that head-on.
-1 in 3 children in the North East are growing up in poverty.
-1 in 4 kids miss out on sport because families can’t afford it.
-Only 1 in 2 kids get the activity they need each day.
-1 in 4 children leave primary school with poor health.
-1 in 3 families struggle to afford healthy meals.

Foundation of Light is teaming up with organisations across the region, including Newcastle United Foundation, Durham Cricket Foundation, Eagles Community Foundation, Newcastle Rugby Foundation, North East Sport and North East Housing Partnership, to work together to break down barriers so no child is left on the sidelines.
