The Prize
Tipsy is a 1930's rocking horse, professionally remodelled by Rocking Horses Rule. We're incredibly lucky to have Tipsy helping our fundraising, he's valued at £1400, a very special chap indeed. He was originally made by both Lines Bros and Pedigree Soft Toys, and when found by Debbi was in a sorry state.
He had two coverings, fur fabric by Pedigree and over that lay a real hide by Lines Bros. As they were really smelly and dirty Debbi removed them to discover underneath that Tipsy had a broken leg, loose joints and also only one eye and no ears. He was at one point during his renovation legless, hence the name.
Tipsy's Journey For Schnauzerfest
Like many of the dogs the charity helps, Tipsy needed an abundance of TLC. He needed somebody special to restore him and help him sparkle once again. He was in great hands with Debbi. Looking at the shabby, neglected state Tipsy was in, his transformation is as remarkable as many of the dogs who have had the good fortune to be fostered by her over the years.
Fast forward through many weeks of love and attention and now Tipsy has new ears, glass eyes and his legs are all repaired. He has also had some dapples added, two white socks and a blaze, all wax finished.
He's fitted with handmade custom leather tack, his original nickel plated brackets and swing irons have been polished and he has new nickel accessories on his painted stand. Tipsy proudly stands 44" high is 52" long and 16" wide.
Of course, there's a touch of Schnauzerfest orange in his silk rosettes.
Now Tipsy is all ready for a new home, he rocks beautifully and despite his age is solid enough to be ridden.
The Cause
Schnauzerfest pays vet bills for dogs in rescue, foster homes and where their family cannot provide what is needed.
Every month the charity pays thousands of pounds to help dogs have safe and healthy futures. Many of the dogs which receive Schnauzerfest assistance have survived traumatic experiences in puppy farms, or have other difficult backgrounds.
This incredible prize has been donated by Debbi, herself a fosterer and adopter of many dogs over the years. Debbi knows how life saving the work of Schnauzerfest is, and is generously donating Tipsy to raise funds.
Without the support of many kind people, Schnauzerfest could not help the dogs it does every year. We rely entirely on donations.
All the money raised (after deducting the courier costs for getting Tipsy to the winner) will be donated to the Schnauzerfest winter grant fund and help rescues get through the hard months ahead.
