In aid of Brain Tumour Support
Every day in the UK, 45 people are given a shock brain tumour diagnosis. In just a few moments their worlds are turned upside down with the words, "I'm sorry, you have a brain tumour."
This diagnosis can lead to loss of speech, sight, hearing, movement and cognitive function. Many patients lose their ability to work or drive. Family members can become carers overnight. Sadly, treatment options are limited and brain tumours are the biggest cancer killers of children and adults under 40.
We believe no one should face a brain tumour alone.
As a charity, we step in to support patients and their families from the point of diagnosis and beyond, helping them feel less alone. Our services include:
- Specialist one-to-one counselling to help patients and their families come to terms with their diagnosis
- A dedicated named Support Professional for each patient and their family
- Online and in person support groups to reduce feelings of isolation and provide a community of people who understand
- National helpline and 24/7 online support forum for information and guidance to provide comfort and reassurance
- Help applying for benefits and welfare payments
- Bereavement support, for those grieving a brain tumour loss
Last year we helped over 6,000 patients and families as they navigate this life-changing diagnosis. Your entry to this prize draw will ensure we can be there for more people who need our help.
