She studied in the 1960s at Benton End, Suffolk (the legendary art school run by Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett Haines), Ipswich School of Art, Camberwell School of Art, and the Slade. Over the last decade, she has staged major exhibitions at CAFA Art Museum, Beijing (2019), The British Museum, London (2016), The National Gallery, London (2014), and The State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg (2013). Our Cause

The Dragon is a Victorian chapel, converted into a theatre in the 1950s, with a later addition of a community centre around 40 years ago. Over time the building has been battered by our seaside weather and storms and is now in need of some TLC to keep it going for everyone’s enjoyment for years to come.

The Dragon is a registered charity, run on a not-for-profit basis. Our ability to cover the costs of running and maintaining our beautiful building have been severely impacted first by the COVID lockdown and not helped now by the current cost of living crisis.

Funds raised through your support will help us to undertake necessary repairs and updates to the building. Recently we’ve suffered damage to the roof, had a major repair to our aging boiler and had our lift overhauled, just to mention a few!

We want to continue to be able offer a range of community activities, culture and entertainment to our varied users, everyone from the very young to the very old, within a warm, comfortable environment.
