The Cause
The Aston Villa Foundation is a registered charity (number 1152848) that delivers the community and social responsibility work of Aston Villa Football Club.
Working alongside key local and national stakeholders, the Foundation delivers projects, initiatives and provides opportunities to achieve its mission of ‘Working Together to Enrich Lives’.
The Foundation and its partners work with people from a variety of backgrounds in Birmingham as well as supporting the wider ‘Aston Villa family’ through several departments including schools, football development, disability, health and wellbeing, education, youth interventions and community relations.
Disability
Our SEND Youth Club offers free weekly sessions for young people with special educational needs and disabilities with the opportunity to engage in a wide range of sports such as football and tennis, to activities that support children’s motor function.
The club provides a safe and welcoming environment that can introduce children to the staff and environment of the Foundation.
The Aston Villa Foundation also run Ability Counts which is Aston Villa’s disability football provision for people from the age of six right through to adulthood. No matter what disability you have, our coaches have the skills and experience to ensure we offer the opportunity for everybody to enjoy football.
Our teams compete yearly in the Birmingham Ability Counts League and Sandwell Ability Counts League, providing competitive football for boys and girls in age groups 8-12, 12-16 and 16+.
We put the emphasis on having fun, making new friends and building confidence, while also highlighting the importance of regular physical activity.
