All proceeds will go to bikes4masai (a charity cofunded by Movistar pro cyclist Carlos Verona) that brings bikes to the Maasai community.
"When I visited the Enkewa camp with my friend Jose, I wondered how I could help the children. Since it's a very remote area with no access to bicycles, we decided to donate bikes to the local camp and school. We also employed a teacher to teach the kids how to ride and maintain their bikes. It was incredible to see their improvements in just 6 months. Almost all of them learned how to ride a bike and I'm super happy with the impact we can make to their lives. We want to expand our efforts to other schools and we're proud that Canyon is supporting our cause."

The Cause
This project arose from two passionate cyclists: Movistar pro cyclist Carlos Verona and his partner Esther. While visiting the Enkewa camp, they got to know the owner Jose. He shared the community projects he supposed through Amigos de Ositeti. That's when Canyon decided to come together and build Bikes4Masai.
The main purpose of this project is to help develop the Maasai community in Kenya through the use of bicycles. We aim to build an environment that enables people to use bikes as a sustainable form of transport as well as become a social and economic symbol of empowerment.
A bike can reduce a 2 hour walk to just 20 minutes for local students and commuters, enabling them to earn more money or spend more time with loved ones. Local workers can also transport heavy materials faster and more easily, making them more efficient too.
We at Canyon are proud of Carlos' efforts and want to support this cause. We hope to raise a significant amount to make further changes to help the Maasai community.
