Aim
We have relaunched Wilmslow Judo Club! We need support to raise money for new mats so we can provide judo training to the community.
Who are we?
We are Wilmslow Judo Club. We are a friendly team that love training judo, and love seeing people benefit from training.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Wilmslow Judo Club has existed for decades as a member club of the British Judo Association. Recently our club closed temporarily while we found a new venue. We now have a new venue but we do not have our own mats. Mats are essential to train safely. We are raising money to fund new mats for our club. This will enable us to train and to be a part of, and serve, the local community in Wilmslow.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We need to raise a total of £8770 to buy a set of new mats. Sport England are helping us, and if we can raise £4385 then Sport England will match that amount and we can buy the mats.
Community impact
Our aim is to provide a safe and fun environment for everyone who wants to try judo to come and give it a try. Judo is a fantastic way to build fitness, build confidence, and to have lots of fun and to meet new people. We are all local dedicated volunteers and look forward to welcoming new members.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
