Help us create a wildlife pond at Umberleigh's community park, enhance biodiversity and provide learning opportunities for the children!
Over the past few years, members of our community have come together to create a wonderful new park and play area at Umberleigh Academy, which is open for members of the public to enjoy. The school children helped plant native British hedging and around a dozen trees, including a small orchard with three apples trees.
We are now fundraising to create a wildlife pond, which will be not only be a haven for flora and fauna, but also an amazing educational resource for children attending Umberleigh Academy, who will be able to access the site during supervised forest school sessions.
Your donation will help us fund pond materials (sand, underlay, pond liner, pea gravel), planting (native British bog plants), materials for a path around the pond (slabs, woodchip, weed membrane), and even field equipment to support science education.
We think we'll be able to see an amazing increase in biodiversity within a very short space of time, as the pond will be an incredible habitat for reptiles, invertebrates and vegetation.
We hope you can support us - the Aviva Community Fund is matching every pound we receive, so even a small donation will make a big difference!
