Wild Oxfordshire

RCN 1131540, Abingdon

We are seeking to create a more natural, resilient, and biodiverse Oxfordshire for the benefit of all! We help catalyse change by identifying conservation needs and supporting nature recovery action across the County. We collaborate with numerous individuals, communities and organisations; offering expertly curated and inspiring information, bespoke advice, and nature-based solutions.

Wild Oxfordshire has a clear mission: to create a more natural, resilient, and biodiverse Oxfordshire for the benefit of all.

For more than 30 years, Wild Oxfordshire has played the unique and critical role of convening and working at different scales and with a wide variety of people and organisations to tackle the biodiversity and climate crises across the County.

Examples of Wild Oxfordshire’s work with partners spans the full policy to action cycle, including working closely with governments and councils on effective biodiversity and nature policy, partnering with community groups and volunteers to take direct action within their local area to improve nature, providing bespoke and curated free onsite community ecology advice and support to landowners and farmers, and engaging with business and the private sector on their role in nature’s recovery.

As a small charity of 12 part-time staff, Wild Oxfordshire’s strong reputation and outreach is testament to the trust it has built across the County over many years. Wild Oxfordshire has been collaborating with farmers, landowners, communities, organisations, businesses, government to clearly identify needs, better coordinate efforts, improve engagement, and take more collective action for nature’s recovery together. Wild Oxfordshire is the only organisation setup to prioritise this fundamental and unique convening role across the County.

Wild Oxfordshire’s ethos is that by bringing folks together the solutions will be better than when people work in isolation, and this approach is at the heart of its activities. Wild Oxfordshire's partnership approach plays a critical role in action for biodiversity, climate and wellbeing across the County.
