Project aim

Empowering Youth to teach others to respect all life on our planet, through rural village holiday programmes in Uganda, run by youth

About the project

The Butterfly Project trains young people to be social entrepreneurs and one of them, Joel Atube, now 18, is an A level student in Kyambogo College in Kampala.  Joel wants to lead a team of young people to teach rural children how to look after their environment, introducing issues like conservation and biodiversity to them.

We have recently opened a centre for youth in Koro and we want care for the environment to be one of the cornerstones of the work we do there, as well as inspiring young people there to be social entrepreneurs.

We are looking for some support for Joel to take a team of five younger trainee social entrepreneurs to Koro and run activities there during this August holiday period.
