We want to launch a new investigation, because we’re concerned about who’s influencing politicians when it comes to the NHS...
We believe that all decisions about the NHS should be made in the interests of the public. But there are growing concerns that people and organisations linked to the private healthcare sector are influencing decisions behind closed doors.
From lobbying activity to political donations, we think the public has a right to understand who has access to our politicians, and what influence they have. So we’re doing something about it!
EveryDoctor is launching a new investigation, and we hope you can help us to do this important work…
The NHS matters to everyone, and decisions about what happens to the service affect us all. When people or organisations with financial interests in private healthcare have access to our decision-makers, there is a risk that decisions might not reflect what’s best for NHS patients and staff.
EveryDoctor has been doing work uncovering links between politicians and those with links to the private health sector - and we want to continue this, because it’s really important. But we also want to go further.
We believe that much of what’s happening takes place behind closed doors.
We want to find out whether private healthcare representatives are meeting with politicians and policy-makers, because we believe the public deserves to know who is gaining access to our politicians.
1. We want to continue our important work, looking at the donations MPs are receiving from people and organisations linked to the private healthcare sector.
2. We want to identify meetings between policymakers and private healthcare representatives.
3. We want to submit Freedom of Information requests to government departments and public bodies, to build up a clearer picture of what’s happening.
…and we’ll bring our findings to as many people as possible.
