Extra Funds raised will be re invested into the club and its future
COVID-19 lockdown brought a halt to income from Mid March, this has massively affected funding and our plans for club house improvements
Whitehaven RUFC was founded in 1876 playing our first game in 1877.We are a community sports club based in the town centre. Currently we are running 2 adult teams along with a thriving youth set up Whitehaven Sharks
Our Club is Entirely run by volunteers, the club is largely reliant on match-day revenue and social functions for finance. This came to a sudden stop with the Covid-19 outbreak. Overall it has had a devastating effect on plans and cash-flow.

This project is to raise some much needed funds, it is to be used to allow the club to be in a stable position as we ease into a new normal.
As a Club we are wanting to come out of the lock down in the best possible position, as strong as we can be and ensure the future of the club for many more generations.
This includes a proposed redevelopment and update of the club house. We see this as a major part of securing our future, to allow us to be self sufficient and continue being the great community club we are, allowing people of Whitehaven and surrounding areas the opportunity to make friends and memories that last a life time.
WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING IN THE COMMUNITYDuring Lockdown the club has played a key part of the COVID support in the local area, Holding numerous food bank collections, collecting and distributing boredom packages to local care homes, Toys books and games have been collected and organised for vulnerable children in the area. Over 300 New Club shirts supporting the NHS were designed and sold raising over £3000. Then finally was our biggest collection to date, we collected in clothing with support from Derwent recycling for the Great North Air Ambulance amazingly we raised over £10,000 for them.
