Aim: Support Our Community to reopen the Testbourne School Pool as Whitchurch Community Swimming Pool for public use.

Who are we?

A group of volunteers has come together and been working tirelessly to reopen the outdoor swimming pool at Testbourne Community School. We now need your help to get to the next stage in the process. We need to raise funds to pay for initial costs to enable the pool to reopen. Please donate what you can to help us reopen the swimming pool for our community.

Community impact

The objective of the Whitchurch Community Swimming Pool is to promote community participation in healthy recreation by the provision and maintenance of a swimming pool for the benefit of the inhabitants of Whitchurch (Hampshire) and the surrounding area and by providing leisure swimming, training facilities, lessons courses and associated facilities for local individuals, schools and organisations.

We want our community to be able to enjoy the pool, just like the wildlife at present.

Why are we crowdfunding?

The pool has been closed since 2019;  we want to bring it back better than ever! as you can see from the photographs there is a lot of work to do; we need to raise funds to be able to start the project.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We will spend this initial fundraising money on key areas to enable the reopening to progress including things like-

  • Materials for volunteers to start clearing up the pool and connecting the pools own utilities supplies to make it independent of Testbourne School supplies.
  • Update/renew signage including safety signage which has faded and needs replacement or is non-existent.
  • General maintenance of neglected areas (cut back foliage).
  • Remove rubberised paint from stone coping – this can be repainted.
  • Replace bubble covers.
  • Replacement skimmer baskets.
  • Purchase of floating line markers.
  • Service of pump, boiler and filters.

How will we keep you updated on progress

We will inform everyone, via our website, as to how we will spend your generous donation. We will also add pictures so you can see what we are achieving and the progress being made.
