Aim
Secure the future of Whitby Regatta by donating and keep a local tradition going.
With a history of over 180 years of aquatic competition and entertainment. The Whitby Regatta is probably the oldest sea Regatta’s on the northeast coast in England and has drawn large crowds into Whitby over the past years.
The regatta is purely funded through donations and sponsorship from local business and the public. All money raised, is spent on the Regatta. The money is needed to cover Entertainment, Fireworks, Medical Cover, Event Insurance, Marquees and Programmes. Other events which happen over the year in Whitby do not need to provide things such as medical cover, but as the Regatta is treated as an ‘event’, Medical Cover has to be provided which cost over £4,500 last year alone!
In order to secure the future of Whitby Regatta, we need everyone to get behind the event and help raise vital funds to pay for this year’s event. We’ve had great feedback and suggestions for new and old events. The money raised, will help fund the 2026 event and help secure the financial future so we can continue to provide the famous Whitby Regatta in future years. We want to ensure that the Regatta gets bigger and better each year.
