WHERE DO WE GO NEXT? In the very final week of The Bunker we ask why it is important for theatres to reflect the society they serve?
WHERE DO WE GO NEXT?
"This may be the end for The Bunker in London Bridge, but it will be the place that launched careers, that supported people, that solidified crafts and provided incredible shows for audiences, whether you were a seasoned theatre go-er/maker or had never made/been to the theatre before." Chris Sonnex, Artistic Director
We want to spend the final week of The Bunker not only interrogating the importance of diverse political theatre but we also want to empower and enable working class, benefits class and underrepresented artists and support their career progression
But we need your help to do this
We have commissioned six new plays from underrepresented writers Abraham Adeyemi, Adam Hughes, Matilda Ibini, Charley Miles, Nessah Muthy and Kat Woods which will interrogate the importance of diverse. political theatre in an increasingly hostile environment.
These are being directed by Caitriona Shoobridge (Genesis Future Directors award winner) and filmed by Matt Kay (Walks of Life Films) and these pieces will form the performance element of WHERE DO WE GO NEXT? We will also have talks, workshops and debates around access to theatre and career progression specifically designed for people from underrepresented backgrounds.
Any amount you can donate will help us make the last week of The Bunker a dedicated place to think, reflect, engage and participate.
Thank you
