Aim
We must, we must, we must acquire a bus! A Two Bays Trust minibus is essential for reaching members of the community most in need.
Who we are...
The Two Bays Trust is a community-run coastal conservation and wellbeing charity located on the stunning North Coast of Cornwall, delivering activities and services in the natural environment for the benefit of people and the planet. We work with young people and adults who are living with anxiety, stress and social isolation, connecting these groups with the natural world and carrying out conservation and biodiversity improvement activities.
The problem...
However, we have identified a problem: Transport.
Transportation in rural areas, and particularly in North Cornwall, is the most significant barrier to accessing facilities and services such as those offered by The Two Bays Trust. We are constantly hearing about people who are in need of our support, but are unable to reach us under their own steam.
The evidence... (from mental health professionals working in Cornwall)
1. “If the Two Bays Trust were able to provide transport, this would open up the ability to access their facilities to all who would otherwise be excluded due to 'not being able to get there'. The impact for those experiencing difficulties and being socially isolated would be incredible for their recovery and open up an opportunity for social connection, nature based positive activity and to build a support network within their local community”
2. “At the "coal face" where we are visiting individuals and families affected by suicide and signposting them to local community activities for their wellbeing and, specifically, in the hope of reducing social isolation and the impact of stigma, we are frequently hindered by the fact that people cannot get to the activity we recommend as they either don't own a car, or can't afford the petrol, or there is no reliable public transport”
3. “Cornwall is the most beautiful county…..but it is also the most remote and this is such a hinderance to so many people. They wish to get better, they dream of being part of a community but sadly for some, this is only a dream due to lack of transport. The Two Bays Trust are building something special, it would be very sad if the people who need it the most can’t access it”

The ask...
BUILD-A-BUS!
To help raise funds, we have decided to virtually break our bus down into its main component parts, allowing contributors to choose the nature and price point of their donation. Each part can be purchased multiple times!
For donations over £500, we would like to reward contributors by adding their name, company name or logo to the virtual part purchased, such as a seat or window, or to the inside or outside of the vehicle.
All you have to do is...
- Choose the bus part you want to sponsor.
- Donate the amount for that part.
- Let us know what you have purchased in the comments or by email.
Every contribution brings us one step closer to building the bus, bit by bit, and providing essential transport for our community.
