My partner, Shane Fry had a catastrophic stroke in November 23 at the age of 56. It has left him with significant disabilities. Even though we are joining the mobility scheme some vehicles; in order to suit Shane's needs require an advance payment. The same goes for motorised wheelchairs, the NHS budget only stretches so far before individuals need to find funds for accessibility items that make a significant difference to quality of life.
Shane Fry was a engineering draughtsman, a keen cyclist, a guitarist, singer songwriter, jewellery maker, wood whittler, chess player and nature photographer with immense talent. Whatever he turned his hands to he excelled at. That has all been lost to him.
He is a loving and caring father to three, now adult children and it would be lovely for him to go out into nature again and take day trips with the family. Hence our need.
