What's Your Poison?

Aim

We're looking to raise the budget for our graduate project, a fantasy/horror set in a rock 'n' roll cocktail bar in Cornwall.

Hello everyone, we are the "What's Your Poison?" crew!

“What’s Your Poison?” is a fantasy/horror set in a cocktail bar in Cornwall about a bartender witch called Nimue, who after being betrayed by an ancient lover, seeks to unleash people’s true nature through a dark and gruesome practice.

We are 3rd year students working on our final graduate project and we need your help to make our vision come to life!

MEET THE CREW:

Alice Dieli - Writer/Director

Alice is the writer and director of “What’s Your Poison?”. She’s previously had experience producing, directing and editing, but is now hoping to further her knowledge and experience as a writer/director since it’s the career she’d like to pursue. “What’s Your Poison?” started as a desire to explore the concepts of good and evil and what they mean and as a way to further represent strong female agency within the thriller/horror genre. The inspiration came from a passion for all things magical, gruesome aesthetics, cocktails and some good old rock ‘n’ roll!

Ben Clingan - Producer

Ben is a writer and producer from Somerset, UK, currently living in Cornwall and studying Film at Falmouth University. After reading the script for ‘What’s Your Poison’, he found a story about strength. With a chance to explore another aspect of Arthurian myth and explore a different and unique approach to the tales.Working as Producer, he found inspiration for the story in films like ‘The Last Witch Hunter’ (2015) and ‘Seventh Son’ (2014), he’s hoping to help combine fantasy and reality into a story that carries a purpose.
His previous work includes producing the shorts ‘The Heartfelt Robot’ and ‘Two Men, One Game’, and wrote and directed the Lovecraftian inspired piece, ‘Call of the Deep’.

Oliver Hall - Production Designer

Oliver is the lead Production Designer on "What's Your Poison?". With previous experience in this field he hopes to further his skillset and work with a larger art department in order to fully realise the visual aesthetic that the director intends. He has an eye for detail and a fondness for niche and clever design that can help tell a story, sometimes without the viewer realising. With skills in craft and a desire to tell stories, Oliver is set on helping the project live up to its potential. He's excited to collaborate and work on different aspects such as wood and metalworking, prosthetics, graphic design, textiles and much more.

Joe Weaving - DoP

Joe will be the cinematographer for ‘What’s Your Poison?’. With two years of specialisation within lighting and photography, Joe is excited to test and showcase his skillset within a completely unexplored genre of film. His goal is to access a style of enhanced naturalism to convey the environment and story of our protagonist: Nimue.

Josh Brumpton - Editor

Josh is the Editor of 'What's Your Poison?'. Having specialised as an Editor, Josh is excited to gain even more experience. He is thrilled to be working on a film that has a vibrant and mysterious world that he hopes to help bring alive in the edit. The film will allow him to experiment with vibrant colours and characters that he hasn't had the chance to before.
