INVESTMENT PLANS FOR WHALLEY CRICKET

  • All the above will improve the club and make it more player friendly.

  • Through future collaborations we wish to welcome all Whalley sport to benefit from our upgraded clubhouse and facilities.
  • Our new Chairman Nick Fielden and our vice chairman Shonti Muckherjee are spearheading the Club

FANTASTIC SUPPORT FROM CASTLE JOINERY & DRY LIVING SOLUTIONS SPONSORSHIP

Whalley Cricket Club are hugely grateful for all the time and dedication from the Managing Director of Castle Joinery, Paul Howarth. The grounds, the sponsorship boards, the trades and jobs completed by Castle Joinery quietly go unnoticed as the general maintenance is carried out

GROUND INVESTMENT

  • In the true spirit of cricket, we also need to invest in our grounds
  • Our ground equipment is needing replacing for the future upkeep of our wickets
  • Crowdfunding and Sport England will allow us to do this through raising funds
  • Investment in new lawn mowers, new wicket covers and absorbent rollers will all ensure we keep our grounds fit for play
  • We also want to invest in more hours for our groundsman to care for the wickets and grounds
  • We want to sign up to a ground care package to ensure full aeration and preparation of our soil and our grass

FUNCTION OF THE CLUB

  • The biggest part of the function of the club is to act as a community base for a number of functions, such as family celebrations and parties
  • Local music bands such as “Drive” regularly perform to help raise funds
  • We hold BBQ’s under marquees to ensure functions can still happen, despite the weather
  • The community together, helping and supporting each other in fund raising activities to help the club continue to offer support to local people
  • The bar is managed by volunteers who consist of the Cameron family, Christian and Caroline, James and Lia to name but a few who support the busy weekend trade when matches are played. A role not overlooked when home matches are on
