Aim: Together we’re building a community where everyone can swim, support our £20k campaign so people with disabilities can keep swimming with us

WeSwim enables individuals with disabilities to move more, feel stronger, and connect through swimming.

Across London, our clubs offer safe, welcoming spaces where people with disabilities can increase their physical activity, build confidence, and strengthen community ties - all through the power of water.

Swimming isn’t just exercise for many of our members, it’s the highlight of their week. It’s where they feel supported, capable, and free from daily barriers.

But we can’t do it without you.

Until August 1st, every donation up to £250 will be matched 1:1, doubling your impact. Our goal is to raise £20,000 to keep our swim clubs running and grow our impact. Your donation will go directly toward essential running costs and help us reach more swimmers through more accessible sessions.

Our Campaign

Your donation makes the biggest impact. Every pound you give helps us continue providing inclusive, supported swim sessions for disabled Londoners and expand our reach to even more swimmers.

And this summer, there’s another way to show your support.
As part of this campaign, we’re proud to launch WeSwim’s first-ever merchandise collection designed with our swim community in mind.

  • WeSwim Swim Cap : Our first official swim cap features our bold WeSwim logo. Its available in classic red - a nod to our wild and outdoor swimmers.

We’re also proud to offer the cap in a larger size option, designed specifically for swimmers with afro, curly, longer or thicker hair, ensuring everyone can wear their WeSwim hat comfortably - this cap is only available in a black and white option due to suppliers.

  • Limited Edition T-Shirt : Created in collaboration with contemporary artist Emma Cousin this unique design was inspired by one of our swimmers who said that being in the pool felt like “dancing in the water.” The artwork captures the freedom, and empowerment our sessions bring.

Why WeSwim Matters

Public swim sessions are rarely inclusive. For many disabled people, they’re unwelcoming or even unsafe. Person-centred swimming opportunities are limited, and the impact is significant.

WeSwim is different. Our clubs provide 1-to-1 support, trained volunteers, and a culture of care that empowers swimmers to move more, try new things, and feel connected in and out of the water.

  •  Only 4 in 10 disabled adults are active for 30 minutes a week
  •  Yet 8 in 10 say they want to be more active
    (Activity Alliance, 2022)

The demand is there, but access isn’t. Barriers like inaccessible facilities, lack of support, and fear of judgement stop disabled people from moving more. That’s where WeSwim comes in. We offer a safe, inclusive space with one-to-one support, so people can move at their own pace and rediscover the joy of being active.

We support people with a wide variety of disabilities, both physical and learning, who face barriers to being active in public facilities. This includes people living with Cystic Fibrosis, Paralysis, Learning Disabilities and those living with visual impairments.

 In 2024 alone, we’ve:

  • Delivered 1,688 sessions across 5 London clubs
  • Welcomed 222 new swimmers
  • Recruited 150 volunteers
  • Generated £184,800 in social value — a 9x return on investment

More Than Movement: Building Community

WeSwim is about more than physical activity - it’s about connection.

  •  53% of disabled people report feeling lonely, nearly twice as likely as non-disabled people.
     (ONS, 2023)

Disability doesn’t just affect the body - it can cut people off from friendship, community, and everyday joy. We tackle this head-on by creating joyful, social clubs where swimmers build confidence, meet new people, and feel a true sense of belonging.

Many of our swimmers say it’s the only time in their week they feel part of a community.
