Aim
West Mercia Police Men's Rugby needs funding to continue offering Officers and Staff the wellbeing benefits of playing Rugby together
We are West Mercia Police Men's Rugby
We are a team that plays in the Police Sports UK Rugby Union League. We are all serving Police Officers and Staff. We use the benefits of being part of a Rugby Team to help improve our mental health, well being and be part of something positive in a career that can often be testing, and highly pressurized.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are a self-funded team and raise a small amount of sponsorship through www.quickmortgages.com. Our players all personally contribute funding to the Club and a Force-wide Sports Fund.
Our outgoings have increased over the years and season upon season we have seen increasing costs for pitch hire, physio and referee costs. We also have to pay towards subscriptions to the RFU and PSUK.
In short our funding is diminishing and we have chosen to use crowd funding to try and keep afloat, to allow our players to continue playing for seasons to come. This will allow them to continue to be part of something special, be part of a team with Policing at its heart, but also distanced from any of the negative aspects of a difficult job.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We will use the funds to pay for ongoing pitch hire, referee/ touch judges, physio, and kit such as playing gear as well as rugby balls etc.
