Real Ideas is really proud to be sponsoring the women in tech award. When we developed the Market Hall and Immersive Dome, we made a commitment to ensure that the technology there would be truly inclusive and accessible to all. Women are achieving brilliant things in tech and we support and we celebrate them all.
Alison Hernandez, PCC Devon, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly – £3,500
Although the south west remains one of the safest parts of the country, our communities have been shocked and appalled by violent crime and sadly violence remains a reality for too many people here. I founded Devon and Cornwall’s Serious Violence Prevention Partnership two years ago based on the premise that a reduction in violence in our society cannot be achieved by police alone. This award is about recognising innovative and challenging work to make our society safer for everyone and I am delighted to be supporting it.
Pat Patel, Customer Services - Culture, Leisure & Sport for PCC – £3,500
Businesses that have implemented an inclusive workplace are more likely to attract the next generation of talented professionals and business leaders of the future, however, there is still much further to go. The Resurgam Charter sponsoring the West Country Women’s Award for Diversity and Equality emphasises the Council’s aims on actively attracting, recruiting and retaining people from diverse communities in our workplace.
