Continue the programme and include NHS staff lunches at Homerton Hospital and work with local homeless charities so supper hot meals service

Hi friends, I need your help!

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in the cancelation of all our booked events for then next 6 -9 months - from weddings, corp catering to supper clubs and festivals. This is obviously devastating but what's worse is just how many vulnerable people are now left without adequate support, supplies and care in our communities.

What we want to do:

We want to team up with local providers such as St Paul's Church on Roman Road to help supply and deliver hot meals and mini-well being kits to as many vulnerable people as possible in the local community of Hackney Wick & Bow whilst also employing those who are well and fit to work and have lost vital income due to this on-going crisis.

Why I need YOUR help?

The government loans and grants are only applicable to companies based on rateable value not turnover - this means I am ineligible to apply. They are not supporting loss of earnings for the self -employed in adequate measure and I therefore I am only eligible for SSP and Universal Credit - neither of which will cover the rent and utility bills that will help me stay operational and have funds to pay support staff.

We want to deliver x 3 hot meals per week to up to 50 people for the next 3 months (initially)

We want to send those people self care kits that will aide immunity boosting whilst highlighting the amazing health benefits of West African ingredients such as Moringa, Baobab and Fonio.

Whilst we have been flooded with people offering to volunteer to help with delivery - we want to make sure people who are suffering financial hardship during this period can get paid - at least a nominal income for supporting this project.

How you can help!

There are few solutions ...

*Donate from as little as £5 - the cost of fancy coffee to support this campaign

*Share this campaign across your friends, family and social networks encouraging people to support it

Other ways you can support keeping our kitchen open:

* By pre-booking meals and events for later in the year you can help us survive when the government has left us to fall by the way side amidst AND you can enjoy a big 20% discount! (voucher system online soon - www.zoesghanakitchen.co.uk)

* If you can, please consider pre-booking a meal or event for Autumn or Spring 2021

* Buy a voucher online to gift for Father's Day, A birthday, Wedding or future supper club.

* If you are in a vulnerable category In Hackney Wick or need food assistance let me know and I'll do my best to help - I'm currently giving out care packages to those who have been made redundant in hospitality and for key workers - there is a limit to what I can do without any income myself but where I can - I will!

What is Zoe's Ghana Kitchen?

Zoe's Ghana Kitchen is food business that helped kick start an African food revolution. In 2010 during Hackney Wicked Arts Festival I started this business outside my front door with a pot of peanut butter stew - it went on to be the first Modern West African restaurant in London in 2015 (at Pop Brixton), a cookbook and I've been lucky enough to take my supper clubs and pop-ups around the world - evangelising on how amazing West African food and ingredients are, breaking down stereotypes of what 'African food' is and can be and redefining Ghanaian cuisine in a modern dining world. I am proud to say my business went on to inspire many others to open their own African food businesses from Krio Kanteen, Chukus to Jollof Box and Chale Let's Eat - all have personally told me they were inspired by Zoe's Ghana Kitchen - whether street food, pop-up or restaurants - and I'm proud to see them all flourish but my work is not done yet. I'm not ready to stop the momentum of the African food revolution - I've only just started! Help me continue the mission to bring African food to the masses whilst also supporting my community and yours - We're in this together!

Thank you for reading and stay safe and healthy!
