Who we are.
Wellington Rec women Team
We are an all ladies team who Started in 2023 and are now going into our 3rd season in competitive football.
We have grown in confidence and numbers over the last year and are at the stage where we need to create another team and additional training to facilitate all interested women and young girls who are looking to the club for more women only sessions
Either just training and meeting new friend to becoming part of a team due to the growing demand of women's football in the Council area & improving the quality of our training sessions
Football provides much-needed representation and diverse role models for young girls and women , they become inspiring figures who challenge societal norms and break down barriers and we hope to inspire them at our club
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are Crowdfunding so the club can provide additional open training sessions coach education and equipment needed to allow coaches to grow the women's section at our club .
As Women’s football gains popularity, The cost to provide equipment needed to set up and run open training sessions ,matches and coach education has risen sharply since last year we need to ensure every woman and girl, regardless of their background, can access football and enjoy the benefits it brings.
We will be advertising our open training sessions which will run from February to end of march 2025 .
introductory session with new attendees we hope to have 30-40 new attendees
First week will just be basic football drills and small sided games between the group mixed in with already established players.
Weeks 2 -4 Understanding of the game to include fitness testing and nutrition these are the weeks we hope to retain at least 20 of the group moving forward .
Weeks 5- 6 Fun football drills and match play at this stage we hope to have enticed at least these 20 people who want to stay on as part of the club in some capacity either as a player or looking to become involved in a coaching capacity and become involved in that way .
As a club we need to make this happen for the benefit of our local community
How we’ll spend the money
As a club we want to be clear to our supporters how their pledges will be spent at the club.
providing high quality affordable activities that improve health, are in the interests of all.
Social welfare is high on our clubs agenda & to provide a more active, healthy, socially inclusive community.
- The club is not-for-profit and reinvests all monies raised back into the club for the good of the community
- This can be seen by extra work we have put into the club
- ground security such as fencing storage
- clubhouse upgrades and of course the Pitch itself along with floodlighting
We are looking to raise £5000 from our crowd funder a breakdown of the fund will be used is as follows to help improve the quality of our training sessions equipment for teams and visitors ,open training nights all year round.
Costs to supply of equipment and delivery the project

- pop up goalposts Forza pod pro alu50 (2) £300
- Cones & bibs £100
- football mannequins £100
- we need to buy quality equipment to increase the lifespan
- £500 for marketing and social media promoting the team and training & delivery costs to club

- Based on 6 sessions away from the club The cost of this was £150 per hour Total cost £600 depending on location

Without this funding we will struggle to get this project of the ground and additional teams would find it difficult to get off the ground.
There is a need at our club to increase female participation due to the increase in popularity in women's game and national team and to help grow our teams for the upcoming season
