Welling Station Mural

Aim
Have you seen Welling's newest landmark? A stunning mural is transforming the wall near Welling Station and we need your help to finish it.
The year 2025 marked 200 years since the birth of the modern railway and Discover Welling linked up with the Welling Station staff to celebrate this
One of the ideas that we came up with was to transform the long wall by the path that leads down from the station by painting a mural on the them of 'commuting through time'. This would depict commuters from when the station first opened in 1895 up to current day walking along.
We have worked through all the steps in this project and have finally reached the stage where the first part of the wall is complete, representing commuters up to before the second World War.
We are now starting to work with the artist to plan the rest of the wall. The wall is around 46 metres long and has a height up to 2.1 metres, so this will be an eye catching feature once finished. The cost to complete the rest of the mural is around £4,000, so we have set up a Crowdfunder to help make this transformation happen.
Once the wall is complete, we also plan to do some planting along the border above the wall for a nice display along the top.
