We're still collecting donations
On the 27th July 2023 we'd raised £300 with 12 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Wellingborough Amateur Boxing Club (WABC) was established by our head coach and founder Ray Revell over 40 years ago.
we provide a open, friendly, accessible and a place anyone is welcome training hub frim which the community and boxers can thrive within, we offer sessions for everyone no matter who you are and what your need!
WABC need a new premise hopefully our forever home! This is due to our current gym is soon to be unfit for purpose as we are looking to expand and become bigger and better and have more impact within the community . so we need to find another space to call home. As we are a CIC (Community Interest Company) we are ran solely for the benefit of our members/boxers and any money we make goes straight back into the club we rely on our monthly subs, donations and grants from members of the community and local businesses. All coaches are also volunteers taking no money or payment for their time from the Club
Boxing is a sport that appeals to people of all different ages, races, abilities and genders. As such, the sessions we deliver reflect a need to meet the varying goals of the members we serve.
Our timetable currently consists of classes that cater for children aged 8-15, carded amateur boxers (aged 10-40), adult recreational members and elite professional athletes.
With over 200 active members, we are already positively impacting the lives of many and with this new venue we will be able to help so many more
The success of England's boxers at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games provides the perfect foundation for our project to build upon.
Major sporting events bring people together, inspire future generations and encourage people to live happier, healthier lives - which is exactly what we're looking to achieve with our "Ready to Rumble" project.
By moving to the proposed new premises, we're intending to expand the impact we have in our local community. As a club, we're currently involved in delivering so many wonderful initiatives, but unfortunately we're limited by the space available to us. Put simply, with more space we can reach more people.
Boxing has the power to transform lives. It has an almost unmatched capability to engage some of the most disaffected young people and help to combat a massive range of social problems, covering crime, educational underachievement, health & fitness and community cohesion. The sport attracts people from all walks of life and it doesn't discriminate. As such, we believe that boxing - and our project specifically - is uniquely positioned within the sporting landscape.
Our project aligns itself to every aspect of the Birmingham 2022 Mission:
Put us on the global stage - The role models created by Birmingham 2022 serve to inspire our younger members and give them dreams to aspire to. Similarly, with members of our own gym competing within the amateur boxing circuit, we understand the importance and impact that these ambassadors have, on both individual participants and participation as a whole
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
5. Offer your services and help. Help the club in any way you can! offering just an hour on the weekend to get the club ready to open up; from cleaning, laying flooring, decorating, drilling and so much more no matter what your association with the club we need your help to make this the best boxing club it can be
