We want to support diverse women to improve their mental health and wellbeing through getting connected with nature , yoga and mindfulness
Why the Green Yoga Collective?
We at the Green Yoga Collective are passionate about supporting BAME communities to connect to nature and improve their wellbeing.
Our mind-body therapy approach is evidence based and a can treat a variety of disorders from depression, anxiety, diabetes and insomnia. The Green Yoga team care about the environment and believe, that nature should form part of any wellness strategy for long term health.
By connecting people to nature we can improve our mental wellbeing. Spending time in green spaces has been shown to produce levels and patterns of chemicals in the brain associated with low stress and positive impacts on blood pressure and reduces socioeconomic health inequalities.
What's our vision?
Our vision is to develop and support disadvantaged women around the globe with our comprehensive Green inspired outdoor wellbeing programs.. We specialise in Kundalini Yoga which is an innovative practice that focuses on powerful breathwork techniques alongside postures helping people feel happier and healthier. We utilise trauma-informed techniques which are particularly powerful for women from BAME communities and improving hormonal health
We will use the money raised to develop an outdoor programme to specifically address the needs of migrant women from around the world. Our wellbeing programme will include a range of activities - from outdoor yoga and family yoga and mindfulness, to biodiversity and climate awareness sessions, food and herb growing, walking, breathwork and nutrition.

What will the money be used for?
The money we raise will enable us to purchase equipment for the programme - outdoor clothing, blankets, nature craft and growing kits, activity resources, room hire and refreshments (for warming up and reflecting after with a hot drink!) as well as our qualified outdoor therapeutic practitioner to lead our sessions.
Our lived experience and previous work with migrant women, speaking with the women and understanding their needs, means we know the resources and activities required to truly improve their health and wellbeing through our programmes.
