Aim
Cornerstone is a community coffee bar. We run a food bank, weekly wellbeing café a free community breakfast and are a warm hub.
Who are we?
Cornerstone is run by St James Church, Carlisle. Cornerstone is a community coffee bar which sells pre-loved books, DVDs and games and hosts a Christian Resource Centre.
We support our community by providing a food bank, running a weekly wellbeing café, an after school drop-in and a free weekly community breakfast.
Community impact
We love our community. We run a variety of activities as mentioned above as well as special events such as movie nights and open mic nights. We also hire rooms to community groups who help to support our community.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are seeing an increase in running costs, but are trying hard not to pass these on to our customers, and continue to provide free drinks to those who need them.
We would like to purchase some materials to offer a better range of free activities that we provide at our wellbeing café 'Renew @ Cornerstone'. We would also like to organise our free breakfasts a bit better by providing cereal in dispensers and jugs so we can offer juice and water for people to help themselves.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Money raised will help to develop the activities we provide at our weekly wellbeing café. We will also use some of the money to purchase cereal dispensers and jugs for our weekly community breakfast.
