This winter our Driffield Community Hub, will be providing a safe, warm space and hot food for anyone unable to heat their home or cook.
Working in partnership with other Charitable and Church Groups we are extending the opening hours of our Food Bank and advisory support sessions to give a hot meal at lunchtime to those in need of assistance.
Our vision for Driffield and the surrounding rural Wolds area is to provide a central point where those in need can access a range of services, provided by both the local authority and third sector. We support vulnerable families and also any elderly in need of a social setting to offset loneliness and improve mental health wellbeing, in addition to providing warmth and food at no cost to them.
Our need is for continuing financial support to cover the costs of our rent, electricity to provide heating and cooking facilities and food.
With overheads in excess of £15,000 per year with rent and utilities, we are fortunate in having many small regular donations, but we have spent our own reserves in creating the catering kitchen compliant with building control and need to build in resilience once again.
