Welcome Place Cafe

Aim

To continue the work of TWP Cafe, providing nutritious hot food and advice/ signposting for local people affected by food poverty.

You may have seen that we attempted a crowd funder last month which unfortunately didn't make it's target. As an 'all or nothing fund', everyone who pledged had their money refunded.

Pictured above isWest Yorkshire  Police and Crime Commissioner, Mark Burns-Wiliamson who came to see how the funding that we received in March 2016 was spent. We have been invited to reapply for funding in a new round next month, so if successful, the money would be around September/ October time. Can you help to keep the cafe open?

For anyone who doesn't know us, we offer a hot nutritious meal 2 days a week as part of Keighley Food Poverty Action Partnership. Our Link Worker is on site to offer support, information and signposting to anyone affected by food poverty.

The cafe is about dignity. All are welcome, no questions asked. People are asked to pay what they can afford anonymously, so we do encourage those who want to buy lunch here to support our project. For those who work or live outside the town centre, of you can afford to pay £3 for one person to receive lunch and support, please do.

Currently  we are giving out up to 100 meals a week.

Our fruit and vegetables come from growing projects and Morrisons. Last year, funding was received from Sovereign Health Care, The Safer Communities Fund and the generosity of the public. We are also grateful for the support from Airedale Methodist Church Circuit and Keighley Shared Church.
