Help us fund the necessary renovation and expansion project for our village school.
Great Ouseburn is an ever growing community, not only because of that, but because of the hard work and love poured into making Great Ouseburn Community Primary School so special, placement demands are higher each year.
The School have had a rocketing increase on numbers of pupils, from under 50 in 2018 to 101 pupils attending in 2022.
In the end of September all parents received a letter from the Chief Governor of the school, pledging for parents to help the school raise funds in order to finance part of the renovation and expansion of the school which unfortunately NYCC will not be funding. The costs for the full renovation could result in costs as high as £100.000,00

Our family connection...
Our daughter Little Rose Mitchell has joined the village school since our move to North Yorkshire in February 2020. She only got to attend nursery for a few weeks before the first lockdown. During lockdowns the school was amazing!! They had a plan in place and an outstanding support system, not just for the pupils, but also for teachers and parents. We were fairly new in the area, but from our first visit we have always been made to feel part of this beautiful big family.
The ethos of the school is stupendous! Sometimes you only get to meet a few parents from your child's class, but here at Great Ouseburn, there is no separation. Children from different ages play together and learn to respect and support each other.
For this reason when we received the letter last month, Rob and I knew we wanted to do something to help and raise as much as possible, so Great Ouseburn Community Primary school can continue to provide the same amazing experience to many more families for generations to come.
Rob and I run the village pub, we normally support the school by donating prizes whenever they have a fundraising event, but this time we want to go a step further, in addition of our usual donations for the end of year event we have joined forces with the local vineyard in the next village of Upper Dunsforth to create this sensational 2 days experience.
Great Ouseburn School
Ethos...
Our ethos is that all children should come to school to be motivated and inspired to achieve amazing things. Through an exciting, practical and child-led curriculum we promote a love of learning and develop resilient learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education. We believe in the power of genuine relationships between staff, children and parents. We champion all children and insist they achieve their true potential with no excuses.
British Values we Uphold...
Ouseburn Qualities we Admire...
School Motto...
All around school you can see our motto of "Be kind, be safe, be ready". We find that if everyone in school is kind to each other, conducts themselves safely and are ready to learn and play, everything runs very smoothly and we are all happy.
Visit the school Facebook page to see all the amazing projects they create for our children.
Your support today will enable hundreds if not thousands of children to create lovely memories of their foundation years in school.
Join us in this beautiful journey to make our village school even more sensational!
