We want to keep our new, successful youth group going for another year and beyond!
We knew that the young people and families in our area had need of a safe, welcoming place that the kids could co
me to and have new experiences, enjoy themselves and make friendships. After three local youth clubs had their funding withdrawn, we decided it was definitely the time for us to step up!
After doing some trial sessions at the end of 2023 and discovering the need and desire was there, we launched our Wednesday Refresh Youth Club in February 2024. We have the regular size and attendance of youth club that has been running alot longer! Our core of weekly attenders has been quickly established (15-20) and we have had contact with 50+ young people and their families already. We are an inclusive and safe space and we have had many young people come along with SEN and we have proven ourselves as a place that they can flourish and want to come back to.

We had secured some funding for our part time youth worker, but in order to secure that we have
had to commit our spare funds to match funding that position. To keep this project going on and on, proving more and more (cooking skills nights, craft, games, film, outings, and more!) engaging opportunities for these young people we need to secure some further funding. We run weekly during term time and during the school holidays focus on 'special' sessions to break up the time off.
We hope you would like to support this work in our community! Our young people are going to go on a hike that individuals can sponsor them for - and contribute here for! Thank you for helping us help them!
