We are thrilled to introduce Wedmore Village Farm, a ground-breaking initiative nestled in the heart of Somerset. Our vision is to create a sustainable and inclusive community hub, fostering a harmonious relationship between people and the land.
**What is Wedmore Village Farm?**
🚜 **Organic Community Farming**: At the core of our project is the commitment to grow fresh, organic produce for the Wedmore community. We believe in the power of locally sourced, sustainably cultivated food to nourish both body and soul.
🌳 **Horticultural Therapy for All**: In addition to our farming efforts, Wedmore Village Farm will host a Care Farm programme. Individuals with learning disabilities will have the opportunity to engage in therapeutic horticulture, fostering personal growth and connection to nature. Working in collaboration with local charity Somewhere House, we will also be providing space for people recovering from addiction to access horticultural therapy as part of their treatment.
🍅 **The Food Forest Project**: We are proud to collaborate with The Food Forest Project, a charitable organisation dedicated to addressing local food insecurity. A portion of our farm will be dedicated to growing free, organic produce for the local foodbanks, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.
🔨 **The Men's Shed**: Mental health is a priority, especially in rural communities. Wedmore Village Farm will host The Men's Shed, a local group on a mission to improve men's mental health and reduce social isolation through collaborative projects, skill-sharing, and camaraderie.
