Hi, I’m David Allworthy and my goal is to make Webwizod synonymous with creating lightening fast websites for everyone across all industries, accessible to all both personal and professional.

What is Webwizod?

Webwizod is a new Website Builder that aims to revolutionise the way everyone goes about creating a website.

• It’s an instant website creator that allows anyone to create a professional website in a few minutes, with zero technical knowledge and with no money (there’s a free option).
• It’s also perfect for designers and developers as it will allow an entire export of your website and the CMS so you can host it anywhere you like and still have all the benefits of Webwizod.
• You can quickly and easily create, edit and update your website on the go using even the smallest smartphone.
• Accessible to all with an accessibility widget allowing personal user settings depending on the users disabilities.

I go into more detail below about features, premium options and how Webwizod will be the first of its kind to offer a website builder service that doesn’t leave its customers disappointed, frustrated and feeling ripped off.

The need for a website

I talk to many different people about what they do in their life both personal and professional and the subject of a website always comes up. 28% of small businesses today don't have a website. The main reasons for this are:

• Cost
• Time
• Know how. 

Not to mention the thousands of other people who would like a website for a personal blog and freelancers who would like one to drive more business to them.

But even when you have a website the cost and time maintaining them can actually be detrimental to your business. One person businesses, like hairdressers, plumbers, builders and cleaners don't have time to maintain a website and frequently don't have the spare money to throw at it.

Especially in the current climate with the rise of energy bills, the day to day squeeze for most households is extremely difficult. Getting and maintaining a website is simply out of the question.

I need your help to make Webwizod the first web builder to solve these issues and give access for anyone in the world to get a website! Even if it's just for fun or to practice and to learn what a website is and can do.

Who would use Webwizod?

• Anyone who wants a website for whatever reason
• Developers and designers
• Education: Schools can use it for teaching pupils how to build a website, what they do and what they can be used for
• People with disabilities: It will have an accessibility feature (see more below)
• Freelancers & sole traders
• Small businesses
• Charities
• Sports Clubs
• Parties & weddings where you have lots of information so social media may not be the best option.

How Webwizod came about

I’ve been a designer for 25 years and a trampoline coach for 30 years. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from both of these careers is the importance of a first class service that offers nothing less than absolute honesty, reliability and value for money.

I’ve been designing websites for people from all walks of life, with varying budgets for over 20 years and most of these jobs usually start with my clients saying how disappointed they are with their current website provider.

With this in mind I want to build Webwizod.

I’m passionate about building the ‘go to place’ to get a website. Whether it’s for a small business owner or a developer wanting a super fast website theme set up to then export it, use their own hosting and customise it for their clients. 

How is Webwizod different from all the other web builders and web services?

• Works perfectly on all devices including small smartphones

• Accessibility toggle. Easily switch on / off accessibility mode for people with disabilities

Why Webwizod? The journey so far 

A year ago I built a basic web builder to test the water to see what people actually wanted from a website.

This proved to be a learning curve for me. It was way too basic and not what a mass market of people really wanted.

Valuable feedback

The feedback I received from this basic web builder was that although this product was free it was too basic, people wanted to be able to:

• Move sections around
• Add a file, upload a document
• Add a Blog
• Sell items
• Embed videos
• Add icons
• Change menu names
• Change text size
• Export the sites code and use it on another host, but still be able to easily update it via the Content Management System (CMS).

They were not interested in the actual designing and technical elements of a website:

• Layout
• Spacing
• h tags and meta tags

They wanted to be able to quickly add elements and they instantly appeared on the page looking perfect. See here:

Gap in the market

From this feedback I quickly realised there was a huge gap in the market. There was a huge need for a website builder that offers these key features:

• Be able to export your entire website, use it on another host and still be able to edit it via the CMS. You’ll have access still to all of the CMS features, like changing fonts, colours and styles.
• Edit it easily on mobile devices. Currently no website builder offers the ability to edit your website on smartphones. You need to do it on a desktop computer. I have researched hundreds of web builders and there are a few which say you can edit your website on mobiles but it is so fiddly and hard to use it's just not practical.
• Accessibility toggle. Show / hide widget that displays accessibility options. The user will then have control over how they view the website. E.g. larger text, coloured backgrounds, invert colours, adjust letter and word spacing.
• Easily change themes and styles and retain all your content and pages.
• Not have hundreds of options that you will never use, making it so difficult and complicated to use. e.g intricate design adjustments like padding, margins and heading (h) tags.
• A host of features that can easily and quickly be applied like a blog, additional pages, sliders, videos etc.
• A free option that has no adverts and credits on it.

Webwizod Prototype

I have recently built a prototype which demonstrates how the editing area will look and work on mobiles. This is the key part of this project. It must work perfectly on smartphones as it's paramount people can create, edit and customise their website on the go and at any time. How much will it cost to use?

It’s early stages but there will be 3 plans:

Starter
Free
No adverts and credits, no catch!

Professional
£4 per month or £39 annually

Premium
£10 per month or £99 annually

Plus an extra launch offer for a limited time:

Lifetime
£500 one off payment for Premium

How will it actually work?

Example 1
If you are a developer you could sign up to the Premium Plan (£10). Create your website, export it and then cancel your account. You then have a fully customisable website with CMS to use on any hosting provider for only £10!

Example 2
If you’re a small business owner and require a web presence so people can see what you do and contact you, you could sign up to the free plan. It won’t cost you a penny and you’ll have a professional website with as many pages as you require with absolutely no adverts and credits on. No catch!

These are just two examples that no other web service in the world offers.
 

Sustainable and responsible 

Webwizod will be hosted by a provider that uses 100% renewable energy.

It will use green energy / compensation for its services:

• Become a member of Ecology to offset its carbon footprint 
• Audited by The Green Web Foundation

Dreaming BIG with AI!

If I raise enough money I'd love to design and develop an AI (Artificial Intelligence) Tool for Webwizod. Imagine being able to say “Webwizod add an image with a caption under main heading” and it appears, perfectly!

What next?

I am now looking to raise £25,000 in order to get a developer to build the prototype and make Webwizod a reality.

What will the money raised be used for?

To pay a Full Stack Developer to build the web app from my completed prototypes. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to actually build Webwizod. I really wish I could build it myself. 

I've put Webwizod on the back burner a few times, but I want to thank my wife for supporting me and this business - she keeps saying "It's a fantastic project, you can't give up, go and get it built, you'll only regret it in the future!".

I will require £25,000 to pay an experienced developer to build this properly from the word go. This must be a world class product for it to succeed hence me joining Crowdfunder. 

I hope people can see the vision I have and passion behind this. I really believe everyone out there who wants or needs a website should be able to get one without it stressing them out and taking up all their time and money. 

Let's put a product out there that doesn't rip people off, exceeds their expectations and is simply a joy to use and share.
