Why we're raising funds
After nine long and hard months of treatment, my mum has emerged victorious in the battle against breast cancer. But the road to recovery is not yet over.
Chemotherapy was an immensely effective drug in my mum's case which has saved her life. Unfortunately chemotherapy doesn't differentiate between cancer cells and normal cells, so while it powerfully fights against cancer it fights the rest of the body with just as much vigour, resulting in serious and wide-ranging side effects for many.
For mum, a long-term side effect she has been left with is severe tooth movement and decay. Although prescriptions are free for cancer patients on the NHS, dental care is not.
This comes at a time, like for many cancer patients, when mum has suffered a significant decrease in her income due to being unable to work for a lengthy period of time.
She has already had several teeth removed and has been quoted just under £12,000 to make eating, sleeping and living comfortable again.
What we're doing
My aim is to raise £5000 to make a significant contribution in saving my mum's smile.
To do this we shall be hosting a virtual life-drawing class organised by those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer, we'll also be auctioning original and specially commissioned art as well as raffling boob related merch.
In addition, I'll be running 100KM over boob-shaped routes through the month of January.

- Help reach out to businesses requesting boob merch to raffle, then buy a ticket!

I have seen and experienced first-hand how traumatic a cancer-diagnosis is followed by how all consuming and debilitating treatment can be.
