Aim
We are raising money for Sleep Pod an emergency sleep aid.
Each month with our digital shows we will be raising funds for a different charity close to our hearts. This month is in Sleep Pod: an emergency sleep shelter for rough sleepers.
The past year has seen the number of rough sleepers in the UK only grow. People are dying on the streets with tragic regularity. For rough sleepers in the UK and refugees in Europe, many of these deaths are a result of hypothermia and exposure to extreme weather conditions. A Sleep Pod is a one-person shelter that can offer meaningful protection from the elements.
Sleep Pods are:
- Insulated
- Rain resistant
- Wind resistant
- Quick and easy to use
- Lightweight, easy to pack and carry
- Cost effective to make (at only £30 per Pod)
- Easy to make, made by teams of volunteers
The Sleep Pod team want to make 10,000 Sleep Pods this year to meet the increased demand. We hope to help them on their way!
