Aim
West Dorset Wilding are holding a Christmas prize draw of signed wilding/nature books to raise money for nature recovery in West Dorset
The Prizes
We have signed books each from from Isabella Tree and Charlie Burrell (two copies of the Book of Wilding), Derek Gow (Birds Beasts and Bedlam, and Bringing Back the Beaver), Sophie Pavelle (two copies of Forget me not) and Megan McCubbin (two copies of an Atlas of Endangered Species).
The Cause
West Dorset Wilding is a small charity looking to make space for nature in West Dorset, with an initial focus on the wider Brit catchment. We want to see improvements in biodiversity, water, air and soil quality, and also help mitigate the impacts of climate change through natural flood management. We want to give nature a chance, and do it on a locally meaningful scale
We will be working with farmers and landowners to help them manage their land better for nature, as well as exploring reintroductions of species such as water voles and beavers. We are also working to help people from the catchment reconnect with nature through events and activities that allow people to discover a wilder Dorset.
